Afterschool Program Subsidy

The Wickaninnish Community School Society (WCSS) is a non-profit society that operates afterschool programs at the Wickaninnish Community School. The WCSS and community partners recognize the value of all students attending these programs. However, the WCSS does not offer registered childcare that would be eligible for financial support. As such, there is a limited supply of funds, sourced from grants and private donations, for students to access after-school programs. These subsidies are limited in scope and subject to change.

Am I Eligible?

Students must be enrolled at Wickaninnish Community School to be eligible for funding. The WCSS attempts to have funding available for all after-school programs. Starting in 2024, funding for any one student will be capped at $500 per school year. Families can opt to pay a portion of the program fees if they would prefer. Funding will be allotted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the community school coordinator and the WCSS. Due to limited funds and increased demand, students granted financial support must attend these after-school programs. Any unexplained absences greater than three sessions will result in funding being allocated to another student.

Please provide the following information
Student name and grade/Programs Requested/Subsidy Amount Requested (Ex: 25%, 50%, 100%)

When And How Should I Apply?

Applications are received year-round. There is no limit on the number of times you can apply or for how many programs. Please note that this does not mean all applications will be approved. Please submit an after-school application to Caleb Harding, Community School Coordinator, in person or at [email protected]
